Three New Studies Show Benefits Of NuVim's Key Ingredient

Paramus, NJ - NuVim, Inc. announced recently that three studies were recently published relating to GTC Nutrition's flagship ingredient solution NutraFlora (short-chain fructooligosaccharides (scFOS) prebiotic fiber). NuVim has the exclusive rights to use NutraFlora in its ready-to-drink beverages and powder products for reconstitution into beverages when marketed specifically for the benefits of enhanced immunity and joint health.

These studies, published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition and the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, complement the more than 20 studies that support the role scFOS plays in helping to support immune health.

The published studies include:

  1. . Karakan, T., et al. Comparison of early enteral nutrition in severe acute pancreatitis with prebiotic fiber supplementation versus standard enteral solution: a prospective randomized double-blind study. World Journal of Gastroenterology. 2007; 13(19): 2733-2737.
  2. . Adogony, V., et al. Effects of dietary scFOS on immunoglobulins in colostrums and milk of bitches. Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition. 2007; 91: 169-174.
  3. . Fukasawa, T., et al. Identification of market genes for intestinal immunomodulating effect of a fructooligosaccharides by DNA microarray analysis. Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. 2007; 55: 3174-3170.

"We are pleased to see the ongoing research that reconfirms the many health benefits of NutraFlora," said Richard Kundrat, Chief Executive officer of NuVim, Inc. NutraFlora is one of the ingredients in the NuVim beverages that help people feel better. "Consumers are increasingly demanding better-for-you beverage alternatives, and NuVim is certainly one product that meets this need. We applaud the work being done by GNC to further confirm NutraFlora's benefits," he said.
