Pesticide Residue Detection Program
Methodology
Imported fruits and vegetables that are put on detention by the FDA are tested for pesticide residues using FDA approved analytical methods. The results are sent to the appropriate FDA facility in Atlanta, California, or New York. FDA reviews the data and takes the appropriate action, as dictated by the laboratory results.
Quality Assurance
At ABC Research Corporation, we are committed to providing quality data for residue analysis. Sample handling and chain of custody procedures are designed to protect the integrity of the sample from collection through analysis. Routine analytical quality control procedures include the use of calibration curves; analysis of blank, duplicate and spiked samples; and statistical analysis of data to insure acceptability.
Pesticide Residue Screens
Pesticide residue screens will detect the presence of related classes of residue compounds. Following is a list of the most commonly requested residue screens: Chlorinated Compounds; Organophosphorus Compounds; Carbamate Insecticide Screen; Chlorophenoxy Acid Herbicides; Fumigant Pesticide Screen; Phenylurea Herbicides; Thiocarbamate Fungicides; and Triazine Herbicides.
