2001 is Leap Year for Bakers: IBIE Returns Next September

Like a leap year, it comes but once every four years, and it's…well, huge. The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), the largest baking industry tradeshow in the Western Hemisphere, will return to Las Vegas, NV, next September 10-14, 2001. As in previous years, the expo will bring together a diverse, international mix of wholesale bakers, supermarket in-store bakers, large and small retail bakers and foodservice directors.

IBIE is jointly sponsored by the American Bakers Assn. (www.americanbakers.org/) and the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers Assn. (www.bema.org/). IBIE will create an independent website to inform attendees of registration and other details in January of 2001. Attendees
ABA and BEMA expect 30,000 domestic and international industry professionals to attend. These include wholesale, supermarket in-store, large and small retail, and foodservice bakers. More specifically, ABA has explained that the attendee base includes: "the top management of large volume bakery plants; directors of engineering, production, finance, research/development, fleet and transportation operations, distribution and environmental management, owners/managers/pastry chefs of traditional small retail bakeries; artisan bakers; foodservice hospitality; and in-house supermarket and commissary baking operations."

As of this posting, exhibit hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 10 through Thursday, Sep. 13. On Friday, Sep. 14, show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Exhibitors
On the supply side, the sponsors expect more than 800 exhibitors to have on display thousands or products and services spanning all areas of equipment, ingredients, information and automation technologies...and all things new and state-of-the-art.

The expo expects to fill nearly 400,000-sqft of exhibit space on a one-level tradeshow floor.
