Butter Buds Food Ingredients (BBFI) is a manufacturer of natural dairy concentrates used to provide the richness of butter, cream or cheese in processed foods. BBFI pioneered the process of treating butterfat with enzymes to produce an intensified essence of butter in powder form known as Butter Buds®. Over the years, it introduced a line of cream concentrates: Dried Cream Extract™, Cream Plus®, Sour Cream Buds Concentrate®, and Milk Buds®. BBFI also manufactures nine different flavors of cheese concentrates known as Cheese Buds®. Additionally, BBFI produces a concentrated form of cocoa butter known as Cocoa Buds™, and a concentrated form of beer in powder form .

Since beginning in 1979, BBFI has sold to over 1,000 food manufacturers in North America, Asia, and Europe. Its products are used for three primary reasons: cost reduction, flavor enhancement, and fat/calorie reduction.
