Cains Foods Merges With Olde Cape Cod

Cains Foods, LP has completed a financial transaction and will with Olde Cape Cod Food Products. Ayer, MA-based Cains Foods, a manufacturer and marketer of mayonnaise, pickles, relishes, salad dressings and sauces, will be distributing all Olde Cape Cod products and handling all administrative functions including order processing and customer billing. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"We initiated this transaction and advised Cains Foods in the negotiations," said Tim Tully, managing partner of Ulin & Holland, Inc., a Boston-based merger and acquisition firm. "This is an ideal merger of two companies. It will provide a competitive edge to Cains Foods as it enters the specialty food market."

Olde Cape Cod Foods (Yarmouth, MA) markets a line of premium salad dressings, soups, oyster crackers and fruit spreads.

"This joint agreement will combine the strengths of both companies and accelerate the growth of Olde Cape Cod Food Products," said John Mincielli, Olde Cape Cod's founder. Mincielli will continue to be responsible for sales development and introduction of new products along with Cains Foods.
