This caramel coloring has a variety of applications for sauces, soups and seasonings. It can be used to darken soy sauce containing 20% salt without the risk of precipitation, lessen the redness of barbecue sauce, provide seasoning blends with a particular surface shade, or make a beef-based soup look more beefy. It can also be used to create a water-soluble dip, giving prepared chicken or turkey an appealing golden color.
