FMC Names President

FMC Corp. (Chicago) has appointed Joseph Netherland president of FMC, effective immediately. Netherland succeeds Larry Brady, who has decided to take early retirement to pursue personal and professional interests.

"Although Larry's decision is a disappointment, we are fortunate to have in Joe Netherland, an experienced and proven executive who can succeed Larry and his legacy of superb contributions to our company," said FMC chairman and CEO Robert Burt

Netherland was elected executive VP of FMC in 1998. He had been the general manager of FMC's Energy and Transportation Group since 1992.

His new responsibilities will include Food and Transportation Systems, chemical shared services, and corporate information technology. Netherland maintains his current responsibilities, which include: Energy Systems; Specialty Chemicals; FMC Foret in Europe; the international regions; chemical technology; and worldwide marketing.
