Folexco and East Earth Herb Merge

Folexco, a Montgomeryville, PA-based manufacturer and supplier of botanical extracts for the food, beverage, confectionery and flavor industries, will acquire a controlling percentage of stock in East Earth Herb (Eugene, OR), a manufacturer of botanical extracts for the dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This acquisition will make the new Folexco/EEH Company the largest botanical manufacturer in North America, with domestic production facilities on the East and West Coast and an enhanced focus on quality, service, product development and value for the customer base," said David Wilson, president and CEO of Folexco.

Folexco was formed in 1988 and is a member of the A. M. Todd Group of international companies headquartered in Kalamazoo, MI. The A. M. Todd Co. (mint products) was established in 1869 and has expanded to include SunPure Ltd. (citrus products) in Avon Park, FL; Flavorite Laboratories (seasonings) in Memphis, TN; Zink and Triest (vanilla beans) and Folexco.

Folexco operates from its facility in Montgomeryville, and produces extracts such as cocoa, coffee, echinacea, ginseng, goldenseal, kava, kola, lime and other botanical extract products that are supplied to the flavor, food, beverage, fragrance and dietary supplement industries.

East Earth Herb, Inc., co-founded in 1971 by Peggy and Bill Brevoort, has been supplying botanical extracts to the nutritional industry for nearly 30 years. The company specializes in both single and multi-herb blends. East Earth Herb's two facilities process over 400 individual formulas in liquid and powdered extract forms as well as providing in-house laboratory facilities for quality control and research and development.
