Food For Health Makes Acquisition

Food For Health Company, Inc. (Phoenix, AZ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amcon Distributing Co. has completed the acquisition of all of the outstanding stock of U.S. Health Distributors, Inc. and America Direct, Inc. (U.S. Health) for an undisclosed amount of cash. U.S. Health has been a distributor of health and natural foods to retail stores located throughout the eastern United States for over 15 years with distribution facility and home offices located in Melbourne, FL.

Mark Rice, the principal of U.S. Health, who will continue as the president and a member of the board of directors of U.S. Health, noted that: "Over the years, as the health food distribution industry has continued to consolidate, our family has had the opportunity to sell to many companies. We have known Food For Health and Jerry Fleming since we began in the business and we felt that we could not pass on the opportunity to join forces with Food For Health."

Fleming, the president of Food For Health, noted that U.S. Health fits nicely into the company's strategy of expanding into new geographical areas. He noted that all of U.S. Health's management has agreed to remain with the company.
