Frutarom Named Exclusive Distributor For Unifect's Tea Tree Oil

North Bergen, NJ - William Ludlum, President, Frutarom USA Inc., announces that an exclusive distribution agreement between Frutarom USA and Unifect International Pty Ltd., New South Wales became effective on September 15, 2005.

It was explained that pure and natural Tea Tree Oil, derived from the Melaleuca alternifolia, a tall evergreen, is indigenous to Australia and Asia, and is characterized by a white, spongy bark. The leaves of the tree are believed to have been used by Australian Aborigines to treat cuts and skin infections.

Today, the ingredient is widely used for promoting healing of acne, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, insect bites, rashes and wounds of all kinds. Tea Tree Oil also demonstrates substantial antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties and is commonly used as an important ingredient in general disinfectants. It is also a proven topical anti-inflammatory and reduces skin irritation, e.g. UV induced erythema and itchiness. As a flavor, Tea Tree Oil overcomes halitosis and provides a fresh taste to oral care products such as mouthwashes, lozenges, toothpaste and tooth picks.
