Goya Foods Announces Its Newest Plant And Distribution Facility
Houston - Goya Positions Houston Facility as Its Hub for Expansion into the Southwest and Mexico
Members of the Goya Foods Unanue family and other Goya executives joined members of Houston's city council and community leaders today to mark a historic event for the company at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Houston plant and distribution facility. The new plant joins 13 other Goya plants in the U.S. and abroad.
The new 138,000-square-foot facility will be located in 5750 Brittmore Road in West Houston. The plant and distribution facility, expected to be fully operational in March 2006, will serve as the strategic distribution hub for Goya's expanding operations throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The center has a projected growth of an additional 134,000 square feet.
The new facility will feature many of the newest industry technologies, in regards to food packing, storage and distribution; making the new Texas plant one of the most modern and efficient distribution plants in the company.

In commemoration of the official Goya groundbreaking, Goya Foods is donating 10,000 pounds of food (serving 40 thousand meals) to the End Hunger Network Prepared Meals Program distributed by the Houston Food Bank.
