Los Tios
Thomas M. Garbett Jr., died suddenly in 1976, leaving the operations of the restaurants to Rosemary S. Garbett. Despite limited management experience at the time Ms. Garbett took control, increasing sales volume, improving the profitability and opening more locations. The chain now consists of five locally popular restaurants, catering and a commissary operation.
Los Tios is a sit down, family-style restaurant with a Tex-Mex menu. A partial selection of items on the menu include fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, chalupas, rice and beans, nachos, tamales, chile con queso and guacamole. Full bar service is available featuring Houston's first frozen margarita.
The high level of consistent quality food products is insured by a commissary operated by Ms. Garbett at 10550 Westpark - Houston, Texas. The commissary provides processing of food products for retail, institutional and restaurant applications via contract cooking.
