Morton International To Close Three Facilities

Morton International is closing three facilities as part of its ongoing restructuring program. The three facilities are an administrative and sales office in Danvers, MA; a manufacturing facility in Garlasco, Italy; and a sales office and laboratory in Coventry, England.

Morton anticipates the Danvers relocations will be completed before the end of 1998. Garlasco is expected to be completed by the end of June 1999. The closure of the Coventry facility will depend upon when it is sold. The company does not anticipate the actions will require a significant charge.

Chicago-based Morton International manufactures and markets specialty chemicals and salt.
