Multi Residue Analysis (MRA)

Source: Medallion Laboratories
Samples are extracted with appropriate solvent combinations to extract a broad range of pesticide residues
Samples are extracted with appropriate solvent combinations to extract a broad range of pesticide residues. Extracts are cleaned up by size exclusion chromatography, concentrated and the pesticide residues are detected and quantitated by gas chromatography (GC). If necessary, confirmation of the pesticide identities can be carried out with gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

DETECTION RANGE: Detection limits of 0.01 ppm are typical, although some variation will occur depending on the particular pesticide residue and on the sample matrix. Pesticides can be quantitated from their detection limit to pure pesticide. Results are reported in ppm with samples having no identifiable residues being reported as Not Detected at a specified detection limit.
INFORMATION REQUIRED FROM SUBMITTER: Please describe the food type submitted. An estimate of the moisture content is also helpful.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION: Many pesticides are volatile; therefore, accurate assessment of pesticide residues requires the samples be shipped in sealed containers with a minimum of headspace above the sample. For very volatile pesticides, shipment with dry ice is recommended.

Analysis of:

  • Organochlorides
  • Organonitrogens
  • Organophosphates
  • N-methyl Carbamates
