Northland Cranberries Announces Acquisition and Staff Changes
Northland Cranberries, Inc., has announced an agreement to purchase the juice division of Seneca Foods Corp. The purchase will include bottling and packaging facilities located in Dundee, NY; Mountain Home, NC; Jackson, WI.; warehousing in Eau Claire, MI and a grape receiving station in Portland, NY. Also included in the intended purchase are all rights to the TreeSweet, Awake and Orange Plus brand names, as well as exclusive license to Northland of the Seneca brand for all juice products.
Seneca will retain its apple sauce, apple chip, glaze and its maraschino cherry business and its production facility in Prosser, WA.
In further news, Northland has announced that its president and COO, Jerold Kaminski, is leaving the company to pursue a career opportunity with General Mills Corporation, where he will serve as vice president-marketing for the Betty Crocker Div.
Northland has also revealed the restructuring of its operations into four divisions: the Branded Juice Div., the Non-Branded Div., the Manufacturing Div. and the Growing Operations Div.
