After produce is cut or sliced, these vitamin- and mineral-based surface treatments protect all sensory characteristics including color, texture, taste, firmness and juiciness for up to 3 weeks with no noticeable changes. The product provides new convenience food options for consumers, while reducing spoilage, cost and labor for grocery and food service operations. The products are available for fresh cut apples, pears, potatoes, onions and carrots.
