Key Advantages of IDF Shelf Stable Fat

  • IDF fat is produced as a primary product, not a by-product. Like our broth, we are focused on producing the highest quality fat possible. IDF rendered chicken fat is extracted from chicken meat with low heat and essentially, all the moisture removed. This continuous process puts less stress on the fat than traditional methods.

  • IDF fat is "shelf stable". Because we produce it from high quality raw materials, we have peroxide value at 3.0 or less allowing ambient storage for a minimum of 9 months or longer, depending on the antioxidant used.

    Our rendered chicken fat has low moisture to help insure microbiological and chemical stability even when shipped and stored at ambient temperatures. Moisture level of 0.25% maximum.

    This rendered chicken fat product may be used in any formulation where natural fat is needed for mouthfeel, flavor carry-through or binding such as: bouillon, reacted flavors, bases, soups, gravy and seasonings.

  • IDF fat reduces shipping and storage costs. Since it does not require freezing, it can be shipped and stored under ambient conditions. Our product is made to order, which guarantees freshness and improved shelf life. We use only young, fresh broilers for processing.

  • IDF fat reduces production costs. We pack the fat in drums or totes and since it isn't frozen, it's ready to use. You will not have to wait for it to thaw and there is less trash generated. All of these factors will reduce production costs.
