Sherwood Brands Completes Acquisition of E. Rosen

Sherwood Brands Inc., Rockville, MD, has completed its previously announced acquisition of the assets of E. Rosen Company d/b/a School House Candy Co., a RI-based manufacturer of hard candy, jelly beans and lollipops and packer of gift items.

Sherwood is presently assessing the extent to which it will be able to streamline and integrate E. Rosen's operations into its own and introduce its core product lines to E. Rosen's customers. Since most of the E. Rosen product lines are geared toward the Easter season, the company anticipates that revenue contribution from the acquisition will begin in the third quarter of its 1999 fiscal year which begins in February.
