Sidel Acquires Guerin Systems

Sidel (Octeville-ser-mer, France) has expanded its process technologies operation with the acquisition of Guerin Systems, a process engineering specialist. Guerin Systems is focused on ingredient management solutions for soft drinks and milk, as well as others.

Guerin Systems handles the engineering and complete process for turnkey facilities. It manages, for example, every step of the continuous production syrup manufacturing process, from sugar storage to its dilution. The company has created a comprehensive soluton that automates the preparation of raw materials and manages formulations. The system, known as DosaVision, combines equipment and software systems to automate recipes and supervise production lines.

At its Powder Institute research center, Guerin Systems has developed an in-depth knowledge of the characteristics of raw materials in powder form.

Sidel de Mexico and Guerin Systems are currently collaborating on projects involving complete packaging lines.

An ISO 9001 certified company, Guerin Systems is based near Nantes, France, and has locations in Barcelona, Spain; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Jakarta, Indonesia. The company posted sales of FF128 million in 1998.
