TIC Gums, Inc.ted Aragum 3173 Powder, consists of a hydrocolloid system with emulsifying, stabilizing, and thickening properties designed to replace the often difficult-to-obtain tragacanth. Tragacanth is an excellent natural emulsifier with applications in pharmaceutical, bakery, beverage and other industries; the aragum powder mimics tragacanth's acid stability and high viscosity, all for about half the cost of traditional tragacanth. Another gum in the series, Aragum T1998, which qualifies for "natural" labeling, is also available for lower-oil formulations, including salad dressings.
