Product Applications
Wheat Germ can be used to extend or as a total replacement for more expensive natural nutmeats.
Bakery Products - As a crunchy nut-like ingredient in cookies, brownies, bars, fruit cakes, nut pies, bagels; in pan smears for honey buns, sticky buns and caramel rolls; in fillings and toppings; in danish and sweet dough products; as a garnish or decorative topping for icings and donuts.
Snack Products and Other Processed foods- Alone or as a delicious ingredient in snack blends and trail mixes; as an ingredient in cereals and in breakfast or snack meal bars; as a salad topping or in salad topping mixes.
Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Frozen Desert Products - In category II and III nut and fruit/nut flavored ice creams; in ice milks or mellorines; as a crunchy topping for ice creams, frozen yogurt and frozen mixes; as a coating or topping frozen bars, drumsticks or other frozen novelties.
Confectionary Products - As a crunchy topping for nut logs, fudges, pralines and assorted chocolates. Also, as an internal ingredient in lower moisture candies such as barks, clusters, chocolate bars, nut logs, nut/caramel rolls, meltaways, hard candies, popcorn/caramel blends, taffies and toffees.
