TIC Ribbon Cutting Highlights Anniversary

To celebrate 90 years in the hydrocolloids business, TIC Gums (Belcamp, MD) is holding a ribbon cutting for its new facility expansion on April 23.

"We can think of no more fitting way to recognize how far we've come than to put in place an infrastructure to accommodate future needs," says Steve Andon, TIC president.

Originally founded in 1909 as Tragacanth Importing Co., Andon's father, Ash Andon took over the company in 1949 and built the business by specializing in natural and water-soluble hydrocolloids. Over the next five decades, the company expanded its product line to include a full line of hydrocolloids and customized gum systems.

In 1987, TIC Gums moved to a new manufacturing and research and development facility in Belcamp, MD. Today, the company serves customers worldwide with agents in Japan, Korea, Australia, Turkey, Brazil and the Philippines.
