WLR Appoints Turner VP at Wampler Foods

WLR Foods, Inc. (Broadway, VA) has appointed John Turner as VP of sales and marketing for its subsidiary, Wampler Foods, Inc. Turner will be responsible for managing all poultry sales, marketing, and research and development departments, and will report directly to WLR Foods' president and CEO, James Keeler.

"John Turner brings to Wampler Foods a solid background in food industry sales, marketing, and general management, with numerous successes in developing organizations, business strategies and profit-focused solutions," said Keeler. "I am pleased he has decided to join our management team; I know he will contribute significantly to our continued domestic and international growth."

Prior to joining Wampler Foods, Turner served as VP of Sales and Marketing for Hatfield Quality Meats, and president of the Consumer Products Div. of Rich Products Corp. He has over 20 years' experience in sales, marketing, and general management with such companies as Lever Brothers, Minute Maid Canada, Inc., Coca-Cola Foods, and Borden, Inc.

WLR Foods is a fully integrated provider of turkey and chicken products primarily under the Wampler Foods brand. The company has processing operations in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
